# Set a site's defaults

> Choose the browser profile, login, browser mode, and proxy that new skills on a site start with.

A new skill you make on this site starts with these settings. Skills you already have keep their own; to change one, use [Update a skill](/api-reference/skills/update). See [Defaults for new skills](/concepts/site-apis#defaults-for-new-skills).

Needs `skills:write`.

<ParamField header="Authorization" type="string" required>
  `Bearer vd_sk_...`. See [Authentication](/api-reference/authentication).
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="domain" type="string" required>
  The site, such as `linkedin.com`.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="profile_id" type="string">
  The [browser profile](/concepts/logins-and-browser-profiles#browser-profiles) new skills use.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="login_id" type="string">
  The [saved login](/concepts/logins-and-browser-profiles#saved-logins) new skills sign in with. Only your own runs sign in with it.
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="browser_type" type="string">
  The browser mode. Values are in [Run settings](/guides/run-a-skill#run-settings).
</ParamField>

<ParamField body="proxy_config" type="string">
  The proxy region. Values are in [Run settings](/guides/run-a-skill#run-settings).
</ParamField>

The answer has the site's `domain` and its `defaults`, as [Get a site API](/api-reference/site-apis/get) shows them.
