# Set the sign-up email default

> Pick the email new site accounts are registered with, or go back to asking each time.

`valendata` or `own` also turns **Create accounts automatically** on — the same as answering a question card with *Always use this for new sites*. `null` asks on each new site again (the toggle is left as it is). The same setting as **Persona → Permissions → Email for new accounts** in the app. Needs `logins:write`. MCP tool: `set_signup_email`.
